Haida are Indigenous people who have traditionally occupied the coastal bays and inlets of Haida Gwaii in British Columbia. The relationship between Haida and Haida Gwaii, which means “islands of the people,” is fundamental to traditional and contemporary Haida life.

(5:33) Sep 12, 2015 The exit dance of Tluu Xaadaa Naay, (canoe people house) after their perfomance of drumming and dance for the new Haida Heridtary Chief, Laanaas Sdang, of the iits'aaw Yahgujaanaas 'laanaas and jaanas clan, one of the Haida clans in Old Masset. The song they are doing is Tsinnii Joe's Happy Dance.

The Gwaii Haanas Legacy Pole (7:20) A new perspective on the Gwaii Haanas Legacy Pole, a 42-foot monumental pole commissioned by a unique cooperative management board made up of equal members of the Haida Nation and the Government of Canada. This video includes GoPro footage taken from the top of the pole. The Gwaii Haanas Legacy Pole was raised at Hlk'yah GawGa (Windy Bay) on Lyell Island on August 15, 2013. This was the first pole raised in the Gwaii Haanas region in over 130 years.
