In this activity, students will investigate the unique ways in which different species in the same ecosystem feed themselves and the special features that make it possible. No two species have the same niche. Each species has a specific combination of food choice, how they find their food, daily schedule, reproduction, and shelter.

Students will travel to faraway lands including the Galapagos Islands to learn how Charles Darwin developed his theory of natural selection. Through colorful, engaging live-action footage the major concepts of the theory of evolution are highlighted. Basic terminology of evolutionary theory is discussed in detail. Other terminology includes: variation, mutation, natural selection, adaptive radiation, competition, survival, and population genetics.
